Tips and Techniques for Using a T3 Featherweight Dryer

Article by Kristy Scott

The battle in achieving a smooth, sleek, and manageable hair is constant. Though entertainment magazines show a number of beautiful women with hair that looks seemingly smooth, straight and no frizz, women in homes, grocery stores, and at work continue to wonder how they can ever make their hair behave. If you are one of the latter, you may be asking yourself how you can achieve a frizz-free straight look without going to a salon.

Hair frizz is often caused by heat and the use of hair chemicals. If you are a blow dryer fanatic and fear that constant blow drying will get in the way of your goal to have a great looking hair, there is a solution for you. With a few tricks and tips in using your T3 Featherweight Dryer, you can limit the damage you do to your hair when styling. Take a look at some techniques that can guide you in blow drying your hair:

Rinse your hair with cool water before drying it with a blow dryer. Tepid cool water closes your hair cuticles and locks in moisture to prepare your hair for heat treatments. There are other rinsing techniques that you can follow to make your hair even healthier and smoother. Try combining a mixture of wheat germ oil with apple cider vinegar and water; use this mixture to rinse your hair after you shampoo. Do not worry about the smell of vinegar as it will fade in 10 to 15 minutes.

Homemade mayo treatment is another technique you can practice to prepare your hair for blow drying. The fatty acids in the mayonnaise can help smooth your hair and increase its oils. Simply apply a tablespoon of mayonnaise or more to your hair and wrap it with a towel or a shower cap for 30 minutes before rinsing it with a mild shampoo. Aside from mayonnaise, you can opt to use natural oils like coconut oil, almond oil, or sunflower oil. Natural oils do not make your hair sticky like commercial products do. Your hair is now ready for drying with your T3 Featherweight Dryer.

First, allow your hair to dry naturally to give it the chance to lock in the moisture it needs to stay healthy before blow drying it. Apply thermal protector on your hair as a step to protect your hair from heat damage too. Bring out a round brush when blow drying. Round brushes control your hair from flying away while you are drying it.

Never leave your blow dryer on your hair for prolonged time. You may be tempted to keep your blow dryer too close to your hair and let it concentrate on one section for a long time until your hair is steaming. Resist the temptation and move your dryer to evenly distribute heat through your hair. If your hair gets too hot, you eventually dry your hair
